ABOUT

Tilly Jones (b.2001) is a young, dynamic composer and multi-instrumentalist from Lismore, NSW, Australia. Studying at the Northern Rivers Conservatorium for over a decade, Tilly has many accomplishments. These include performances of her works by the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Southern Cross Soloists, Lismore Symphony Orchestra and commissions by the Australian Broadcasting Cooperation, Northern Rivers Conservatorium, Lismore Lantern Parade, RealArtWorks, Evans Head Living Musem and the Austin-based Cinema Touching Disability Film Festival. She has performed with renowned artists such as James Morrison, Richard Gill, Sean O’Boyle, Jane Rutter, David Helfgott, and Tobias Brieder. Tilly has received numerous awards including the 2020 Youth Off the Streets Sony Scholarship, and the 2022 ADFAS Byron District Young Musician of the Year award, which saw her works performed by members of the Southern Cross Soloists at the 2022 Bangalow Music Festival. In August 2022, she composed ‘Resounding’ for a short ABC documentary about the impacts of 2022 flooding on the Northern Rivers Music community.

Tilly is currently pursuing her education in music composition at Southern Cross University whilst working at the Northern Rivers Conservatorium, and undertaking an internship with The Flowers of Peace, supported by the Australian War Memorial. She is currently being mentored by Elena Kats Chernin AO through the AIR Women In Music mentorship program.

She composes in several styles for a variety of instruments, including jazz, classical, world, and fusion. Outside of music, Tilly is passionate about disability inclusion within the music industry

Tilly is truly a spirited pioneer in her field of music, and she always delivers excellence in her work. With a bright future ahead of her, she is committed to create more ripples of positivity through her music. The rest is unwritten.
